Mr. Apichai Sunchindah has been a development specialist spanning four decades. He has held positions with the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in Thailand, and the Bangkok-based development cooperation agencies of Australia, the United States, Switzerland, the United Nations and most recently Germany. He also spent a significant part of his professional career working for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Secretariat and the ASEAN Foundation, both located in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Mr. Sunchindah obtained both his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology (1975) and Master of Science degree in Water Resources Management (1977), from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA.
