Mr. Atsushi Toyonaga has been appointed as Senior Advisor at Mizuho Bank, Ltd. since November 2016. He is responsible for advising the strategy to support the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) from the financial point of view. Previously, he held positions such as Commissioner and Director-General of Small and Medium Enterprise Agency in Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) of Japanese Government. He has substantial experience in planning and implementing SMEs policy. He also has extensive experience as General Manager of SMEs Unit, Japan Finance Corporation from 2013 to 2015. He attended the University of Tokyo and graduated with a Bachelor of Law in 1981.
