Dr. Tran Xuan Thao is currently Director at the Institute for International Education in Hanoi, Vietnam. He has held this position since February 2017. He has served in various capacities in Vietnam’s higher education industry, including Director of Openminds International at Ton Duc Thang University (2014-2016), Vice Provost of Academic Affairs at Tan Tao University (2010-2014) and Director of the US Fulbright Program in Vietnam (1999-2010).

Dr. Tran Xuan Thao received his undergraduate degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language at the University of Hue in 1977, then later went on to pursue postgraduate studies at the University of Canberra in Australia under the Australian Government Scholarship Program. He received his Ph.D. in Education from the University of Pennsylvania in the United States of America in 1998 under the auspices of the Fulbright Program.
